How to add notes to a video

2 min readFeaturesLast updated 15 June 2026

Step-by-step guide

1

Open the video detail page

From your Dashboard, click the video you want to annotate. The video detail page will open.

2

Scroll to the Notes panel

Below the transcript panel you will find a "Notes" section. If you do not see it, make sure your plan includes Notes (Studio and above). On smaller screens the Notes panel may be in a collapsible drawer — look for a "Notes" tab at the bottom of the page.

3

Type your notes

Click inside the Notes text area and start typing. You can write free-form text, paste in bullet points, or jot down timestamps manually. The Notes field supports basic line breaks and paragraph spacing.

4

Save your notes

Click the "Save Notes" button below the text area. A confirmation message will briefly appear to confirm the save was successful. Notes auto-save after 30 seconds of inactivity as well.

5

Notes are private to your account

Notes are never included in share links and are never visible to other users. Even if you share a transcript with someone, your notes remain completely private.
